Direct Maintenance is a certified service provider for almost 20 years in the Aviation industry. In between flights, we take care of many well-respected airlines, such as Emirates, Etihad, TUI, UPS and many more, by providing maintenance services. Scope of responsibilities:

As an Accounting Officer at Direct Maintenance, you undertake all aspects of the administration of the company and all its subsidiaries in Africa and Europe. The Accounting Officer is also assisting in maintaining the general ledger in a timely and organized manner. Direct Maintenance BV is part of a stock listed company, meaning that all administrations need to be correctly recorded to support monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting, as well as the budgeting process. This is a challenging environment and there is room for growth in this position.

The Accounting Officer is working together with the business controller and reports directly to the Finance Director. You are in close contact with many stakeholders from all over the world, including our station managers. This means it is a challenge to organize the administration due to a wide variety of cultures and local legislations. Furthermore, Direct Maintenance is eager to use automation and we are working on a several projects with our headquarter in Tallinn to improve efficiencies.

In this role you are responsible for all administrations within our Direct maintenance group. Together with us, you make sure the actual bank closes correctly of all 10 legal entities of the Direct Maintenance company. You make sure all supplier invoices are recorded and approved in order to prepare the VAT applications on time. As we work in several African countries, you will update and maintain their cash position and work together with the Finance Director on further cash control and treasure measures.

Besides the financial administration, you will work pro-actively with Human Resources to obtain, analyze and record all necessary payroll documents for each single entity.

Some of your other’s tasks would be to:

  • Prepare monthly sales invoices,
  • Record and check necessary adjustments in the general ledger for reporting purposes,
  • Prepare several overviews to improve planning & control processes,
  • Assist in preparing the yearly budget and quarterly balance sheet specifications,
  • Proactive attitude towards our station managers to safeguard local compliance and procedures.

 

Key requirements:

In order to be successful in this role you need a degree in accounting (e.g. MBA, SPD or equivalent) and have a basis understanding of accrual accounting principles. Additionally, you have approximately 5 years of elementary accounting experience.

You have basic communication skills, and you are preferably experienced to work within an international environment. It is natural for you to be consistent, hands-on, accurate and you have an eye for detail.

Of course, you have a no-nonsense and pro-active personality and can work both independently and as a member of a team. You are willing to work for a young and dynamic organization which demands devotion and flexibility.

Scope of responsibilities:

As HR Business Partner you are one of the essential interfaces to the foreign stations and work closely with the international HR Advisors. You will be contact person for our employees, external providers and local authorities around the world in payroll and HR related topics. You will be a specialist for preparation of payroll in different countries throughout the world. With your distinctive hands-on mentality and strategical mindset, you see yourself as a support provider for our operation and all colleagues within the Direct Team around the world.

You will:

  • Develop, lead, execute and oversee HR operational and strategical tasks and processes
  • Actively participate in external/internal Employer Branding formation and execution
  • Communicate with +/- 200 employees about different HR related matters in several countries
  • At our office in Cologne/ Dusseldorf you are the primary contact person when HR know-how and support is required in international exchange and expansion projects
  • You advise executives, employees and HR colleagues on issues relating to employment contracts, tax or social security-related topics
  • Coordination with internal colleagues and external partners such as health insurances and tax consulting companies are part of your daily business
  • Support, for example, the implementation of the annual Compensation & Performance Reviews or the introduction of international HR processes and projects
  • You always have an eye on the coordinative and administrative tasks in your area of ​​responsibility, whether it’s the organization of international HR meetings, payroll via external service providers or ensuring data quality in the HR system.
  • Answer any questions that employees might have about payment and work to resolve any payment issues that arise

Key requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of previous HR experience in a rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Proven hands-on attitude, being flexible and adaptable with the ability to identify and solve problems on the go
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvements
  • Extensive knowledge of German labor laws
  • Fluent in English and German language (Dutch would be advantage)
  • Good ethical judgment
